Ball valve with one-piece body

(VT.290.N) The most vulnerable place of traditional ball valves is a juncture group of semibodies. As a rule, they are joined with a short (2–3 threads) metric thread with a step of 1.5–1.25 mm, which is additionally fixed with sealing adhesive.

It often happens that in course of assembly, due to poor quality threads or excess of admitted assembly torque, stresses are formed in the body partition, which further cause fatigue cracks and article destruction.

In course of assembly, rather high torque is applied to the valve, while in exploitation conditions the valve body may suffer substantial axial loads and bending moments from the pipeline. Before installation the valve may suffer impact loads (falling or shaking), which can entail cracking of fragile anaerobic sealant. Fittings with bodies not weakened with joints are much more reliable.

Ball valve with one-piece body VT. 290 is the development of VALTEC designers. Its gate axis is turned at 45° with respect of valve axis. The gate chamber lies beyond the joined pipelines axis and is closed with a rubber plug, having unwound which, one may extract, clean or substitute any its element - seat rings, ball gate or a stem.

Hydraulic characteristics of the model is little inferior that these of traditional full-bore valves. For example, the valve with nominal diameter ½” has local resistance coefficient 0.55, while a valve of standard construction has LRC = 0.26).

The plug and the one-piece valve body are made of brass using hot stamping method and are protected with nickeled plating. Joining thread is internal.
